David Atkinson’s career in finance includes 12 years on Wall Street, and CFO of a publicly traded company. While on Wall Street, Atkinson spent most of his time in the Media and Entertainment sector, covering both large and small media companies, with a particular focus on the video game space. His work included mergers and acquisitions as well as capital raising for a number of public and private video game companies, including Take Two Interactive, THQ, Inc., Red Storm Entertainment and Bethesda Softworks, among others. Work in the media and entertainment sector also focussed on filmed entertainment, television and radio broadcasters as well as newspaper and magazine companies.
Prior to joining Radar, Atkinson, as CFO of Battle Mountain Gold Exploration Corp., helped to finance and build a portfolio of precious metal royalties, and ultimately sell the company to Royal Gold Inc., the largest publicly traded precious metals royalty company in the US.
Atkinson has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
